The German Weightlifting Federation (BVDG) continues to push the limits of competitive weightlifting with the Luxiaojun GWL Open 2025, an event that will bring together elite lifters, ambitious amateurs, and alternative strength sports. Following her recognition as the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month for October, weightlifter Tenishia Thornton has now earned the prestigious distinction of Atlas Youth Athlete of the Year Award for 2024. On January 25, 2025, the Slovak Weightlifting Federation held an electoral congress in Trstena, at which Tomáš Chovanec was re-elected as the president of the Slovak Weightlifting Federation for the election period 2025-2028.47 delegates out of 81 expressed confidence in him already in the first round.
