On 8 February, the Swiss Weightlifting Federation SAGV/FHSA held its General Assembly in Andelfingen, at which Bernd Schneider was unanimously re-elected for a further term of office by all delegates from the 26 weightlifting clubs in Switzerland.
As the two Vice-Presidents Aubry-Jan Schipper and Laurent Litzler have decided to take up further positions as national coaches, Marc Vöge (Vice-President East) and Jean-François Charrière (Vice-President West) were newly elected as Vice Presidents.
Following the resignation of Gaby Prongue after 13 successful years as technical director and national coach, Laurent Litzler was elected as technical director.
The new board consists of the following members:
– Bernd Schneider, President
– Marc Vöge, Vice President East
– Jean-François Charrière, Vice President West
– Laurent Litzler, Technical Director
– Cyrill Gosteli. Finance
The national coaches, members of the technical committee, are;
– Aubry-Jan Schipper, national coach
– Laurent Litzler, national youth coach
– Tom Schwander, womens coach.

A special point was the farewell and appointment of Gaby Prongue, now former national coach and technical director, as an honorary member who was in charge of the national team for over 13 succesful years.

With the guidelines of the FTEM – Framework Concept for Sport and Athlete Development ‘FTEM Switzerland’ and the popular sport concept, which was developed with SWISS Olympic, the Swiss Weightlifting Federation SAGV/FHSA looks forward to a positive and successful future and is pleased to be an active participant in the IWF and EWF.
