Day 3 of the 2026 EWF European Youth & U15 Championships brought four more titles, two competitions decided by a single kilogram and another pair of European Youth records.
The day opened with the Youth Men 60 kg category, where Evgenii BUTUZOV, representing Russia, took the title with 246 kg.
BUTUZOV finished the Snatch on 109 kg, just one kilogram ahead of Armenia’s Artur PETROSYAN, before adding 137 kg in the Clean & Jerk to secure the gold.
PETROSYAN took silver with 241 kg after lifts of 108 kg and 133 kg, while Türkiye’s Mustafa Hamza CIGER completed the podium with 238 kg.
The Women U15 53 kg competition was much tighter, with only one kilogram separating the top two.
Poland’s Maja ZURAWSKA and Sweden’s Wilma ARVIDSSON both finished the Snatch with 70 kg. ARVIDSSON then made 90 kg in the Clean & Jerk to reach 160 kg in Total and move one kilogram ahead of ZURAWSKA, who finished with 159 kg.
Elena GOBEEVA, representing Russia, took bronze with 150 kg.
Another one-kilogram finish followed in the Women U15 57 kg category.
Spain’s Ines CONDE FERNANDEZ held a one-kilogram advantage after the Snatch with 75 kg, ahead of Türkiye’s Tugba KIVIKOGLU on 74 kg.
Both lifters recorded 95 kg in the Clean & Jerk, which left CONDE FERNANDEZ on top with 170 kg and KIVIKOGLU second with 169 kg. Aliaksandra KRUK of Belarus took bronze with 155 kg.
The final category of the day brought the strongest individual performance of the day.
Romania’s Alexia Diana SIPOS was in control throughout the Youth Women 53 kg event. She made all three Snatch attempts, progressing from 76 kg to 80 kg and then 84 kg, with the final lift setting a new European Youth record.
SIPOS continued with three successful Clean & Jerks at 94 kg, 98 kg and 101 kg. Her final Total of 185 kg gave her a second European Youth record of the session and a clear victory in the category.
Moldova’s Gabriela DANILOV took silver with 168 kg, while Türkiye’s Zeynep YILDIRGAN finished third with 163 kg. Great Britain’s Niah SINCLAIR was just one kilogram further back on 162 kg.
