Sarah Fischer, who was born in 2000, is one of the most impressive young weightlifters in the world. She has an amazing total of 36 medals from major international competitions, such as the European and World Championships.The Austrian Weightlifting Federation’s “Hall of Fame” induction was made possible by the fact that this had never been done previously in the Federation’s history. The annual Nordic Youth and Junior Championships took place in Iceland in a brand new weightlifting hall and the first of its kind in Iceland called Midgard during the weekend 12-13th of November. The six member nations of the Nordic Weightlifting Federation (NWF) competed in this annual competition; Denmark, Faroe Islands (first time), Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Following the conclusion of the EWF Congress in Durres (ALB) held in October 2022, informal EWF zoom Forum – EWF Event Challenges – took place on 16th November 2022 with the main goal to improve EWF events. Weightlifting Ireland, in collaboration with Sport Ireland, organizes the Women in Sport Expo – 2022 as part of the Women in Sport program (WIS). The main goal is to increase the visibility of women in weightlifting and inspire the next generation of strong women. The event will be held on November 20, 2022, in Waterford.
