Sarah Fischer, who was born in 2000, is one of the most impressive young weightlifters in the world. She has an amazing total of 36 medals from major international competitions, such as the European and World Championships.
The Austrian Weightlifting Federation’s “Hall of Fame” induction was made possible by the fact that this had never been done previously in the Federation’s history. Sarah became the youngest weightlifter in the Austrian Weightlifting Federation to obtain this accolade. It happened following the Austrian Bundesliga finals, which were held in Linz, Upper Austria, on November 6, 2022. She received the honorary trophy for Hall of Fame entry from the Federation’s president, Gerhard Peya, and joins this elite group as the eleventh person and third female athlete.
She was also the first female weightlifter from Austria to compete in the Olympics. She won 25 Austrian championships and broke 318 Austrian weightlifting records.
