Karlos Nasar made history at the 2023 EWF European Championships in Yerevan, Armenia, by breaking not one, but three world records in the men’s 89kg category. The Bulgarian weightlifter got off to an explosive start by breaking the previous Junior Snatch record with a lift of 174 kg. He then went on to break the world Clean and Jerk record with a lift of 221kg. Finally, with a total result of 395kg, Nasar secured the world record for the total! April 2023 The European Weightlifting Federation strongly condemns the incident that happened during the Opening Ceremony of the European Weightlifting Championships in Yerevan on April 14, 2023, in which a person set fire to the flag of Azerbaijan.
