The German Team Championships are set to kick off this weekend on Saturday 29.04.2023, featuring the best weightlifting teams from across the country. The top three teams from the regular season will compete for the championship, with only six lifters allowed to compete and two substitutes. Each team is permitted to have two non-German lifters on their roster.
The competition will take place in Samswegen, where the home team, SSV Samswegen 1884 e.V., will be looking to win the title in front of the home audience. However, they will face stiff competition from AV 03 Speyer 1903 e.V. and SV Germania Obrigheim e.V., who have both shown impressive performances throughout the regular season.
The event will begin with the weigh-in at 4:00 pm, followed by the presentation of the lifters at 5:00 pm. The competition will then start at 5:30 pm, with a break between the snatch and clean of 20 minutes. The award ceremony is expected to begin after competition.
Each team has brought their top lifters to compete in the championships. SSV Samswegen 1884 e.V. will be led by their highest scorer in the regular season, Arkadiusz Michalski from Poland. AV 03 Speyer 1903 e.V. will rely on their top scorer, Simon Brandhuber from Germany, while SV Germania Obrigheim e.V. will look to Nico Müller to lead them to victory.
The teams have worked tirelessly to prepare for this competition, and they are ready to show off their strength and skill. Fans can expect a thrilling competition, as these teams battle it out for the title of German Team Champions.
Additionally, for those unable to attend the event in person, a live stream of the competition will be available on the EWF Facebook page.
