European Weightlifting Federation President Mr. Antonio Conflitti and General Secretary Dr. Milan Mihajlovic paid a two-days (24-25 March) official visit to Yerevan at the invitation of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation. The main purpose of the visit was Armenia’s interest in hosting the 2023 European Senior Championships. The EWF had received more number of requests to extend preliminary entries athletes number for European senior championships. Because the number of athletes for the preliminary entry is regulated by the IWF TCRR, article 3.4.2.2, EWF sent request to IWF TC if an exception could be made for this event. Following a discussion within the IWF TC, EWF received approval that for this event, national federations may apply 10+10 reserve male athletes and 10+10 reserve female athletes for preliminary entries.
