On January 5, 2025, the Kosovo Weightlifting Federation KWF held its Electoral Congress under the supervision of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, in the capital city Pristina. The event saw the participation of 15 delegates representing the three regions of Kosovo. The Congress was also honored by the presence of Mr. Elez Gjoza, President of the Albanian and Balkan Weightlifting Federations.
The newly elected Executive Board of the KWF is as follows:
- Dr. Astrit Hasani, President
- Arian Zogu, General Secretary
- Blerim Kabashaj, Member
- Bashkim Muhaxheri, Member
- Osman Jakupi, Member
As per the KOS WF’s Constitution, the President, with the approval of the Executive Board, will appoint two additional Board Members in the next meeting. At least one of these appointees must be a woman.
Additionally, the Congress elected the following individuals to key positions: Armend Beqiri, Chairman of the Technical Committee, Nita Gjikolli, Chairwoman of the Medical Committee, and Ilir Krasniqi, Chairman of the Disciplinary Commission. Moreover, for the supervisory council were elected Arlind Beqiri, Agnesa Maxharri, and Djellza Boshnjaku.
Dr. Hasani who also holds the position of EWF Treasurer and Executive Board Member, addressed a message at the end of the important meeting: “Thank you all for your trust and I am glad that this confirmation will allow us to continue the good projects we have started. I also congratulate my colleagues who are now part of the new team and I am convinced that together we will continue to develop our federation.”
The EWF addresses its sincere congratulations to the re-elected President and the Board, wishing all the best for the current and future activities of the Kosovo Weightlifting Federation.
