Lima, Peru – January 14, 2024 – In a significant gathering for the Pan American Weightlifting Federation (PAWF), key positions within the organization were filled through elections held in Lima, Peru. Jose Quinones was elected by acclamation underscores the confidence and support he enjoys among the member nations.

The elections also confirmed William Pena as the General Secretary, while Treasurer’s position was filled by Seijas Luis.

The PAWF also welcomed new Vice Presidents, reflecting the federation’s commitment to inclusivity and regional representation. The elected Vice Presidents include Alvardo Nadia as first Vice President and Walker Craig, Barcelan Jorge, and Zambrano Luis as Vice Presidents. 

Additionally, the Executive Board now includes new members Aranda Paula, Callender Andrew, and Espana Jorhe.

The elections were graced by the presence of esteemed guests and high dignitaries, including IWF President Mohammed Jalood and EWF President Antonio Conflitti. Their attendance not only added prestige to the event but also underscored the international support for the PAWF.

The European Weightlifting Federation extended its congratulations to the newly elected members of the Pan American Weightlifting Federation. The EWF, recognizing the significance of this new chapter for the PAWF, conveyed its best wishes to the new leadership team.
