Bucharest, 1st August 2023 – The Bucharest stage lit up with more sensational performances on the sixth day of the EWF European Junior and U23 Championships. With both new and familiar faces gracing the podium, the spirit of competition reached new heights.

The day began with the Mens Junior and U23 89kg B Groups along, with the Womens U23 71kg B Group, which showcased the competitors strength and determination from the start.

The first A Group to display their mettle was the Men’s Junior 89kg group. Armenia’s Suren Grigoryan emerged victorious, earning top honors. Zurab Mskhaladze of Georgia and Ertjan Kofsha from Albania trailed closely, seizing the silver and bronze medals respectively.

Up was a combined competition featuring the Womens Junior 81kg and U23 71kg categories. Natalia Gadelia from Georgia secured gold in the Junior 81kg category while Emma Poghosyan from Armenia and Fanny Kohler from Sweden took home the silver and bronze medals. 

In the U23 71kg category Giulia Miserendino from Italy emerged as the champion, accompanied by Nuray Gungor from Turkiye and Lara Dancz from Germany on the podium.

In the Men’s U23 89kg competition, Marin Robu from Moldova stood tall on the winner’s podium, flanked by Armands Mezinskis from Latvia and Ukraine’s Maksym Dombrovskyi who bagged the silver and bronze.

The last group of the day, the Women’s Junior 76kg category, was swept by Dilara Narin of Turkiye who clinched gold, followed by Italy’s Toko Genna securing silver, and Germany’s Amelie Hoerner grabbing the bronze.
