Bucharest, 29th July 2023 – The fourth day of the EWF European Junior and U23 Championships was brimming with action, as the competitors showcased their prowess and dedication, captivating audiences around the globe.
The day began with the Women’s Junior and U23 64kg B Groups, setting the tone for an electrifying day of competition.
The first A group to take the stage was the Women’s Junior 64kg category. Vitaliia Fylypiv of Ukraine claimed the gold medal in a display of outstanding strength and control. Romanian competitor Anca Grosu and French athlete Loane Payet followed suit, earning the silver and bronze medals respectively.
In the Men’s U23 73kg category, Turkish lifter Muhammed Furkan Ozbek demonstrated impressive technique and determination, securing the top spot on the podium. Georgia had a strong representation, with both Kakhi Asanidze and Archil Malakmadze securing the silver and bronze, showcasing their country’s depth of talent.
The Women’s U23 64kg category saw a nail-biting competition, with Ukraine’s Marria Hanhur standing victorious. Turkish competitor Aysel Ozkan and Italy’s Martina Chiacchio closely followed, capturing the silver and bronze medals, respectively

In an exciting conclusion to the day, the Men’s Junior 73kg category saw Romania’s Tiberu Donose clinch gold, much to the delight of the supportive home crowd. The silver and bronze were claimed by Armenian lifters Gor Sahakyan and Martin Poghosyan, respectively, concluding a truly thrilling day of competition.
