Day Three of EWF Championships 2023: Athletes Continue to Dazzle in Bucharest

Bucharest, 29th July 2023 – The third day of the EWF European Junior and U23 Championships carried on the momentum from the previous days, witnessing a series of breathtaking performances from an array of Europe’s most skilled weightlifters.
Kicking off the day’s events was the Men’s Junior 67kg category. The arena echoed with applause as Turkiye Kahriman Kaan ascended to the top of the podium, followed by Tigran Karapetyan from Armenia and Hubert Pietrzak of Poland, who claimed the silver and bronze medals respectively.
The competition then progressed to the Women’s U23 59kg category. It was Ukraine’s Kamila Konotop who outshone her peers and took home the gold. Belgium’s Nina Sterckx displayed an impressive performance, earning the silver medal, while Chiara Piccinno from Italy demonstrated unwavering resolve to secure the bronze.
Next on stage was the Men’s U23 67kg group, which showcased a thrilling competition between some of the strongest young men in the field. Gurami Giorbelidze from Georgia emerged victorious, followed closely by Andrea Corbu from Italy and Florea Robrt from Romania, marking yet another exciting chapter in these championships.
The grand finale of the day was the Women’s Junior 59kg category. The Ukrainian duo, Svitlana Samuliak and Olha Ivzhenko, dominated the field, securing the gold and silver respectively. Aleksandra Grigoryan from Armenia rounded off the podium, securing the bronze and bringing the third day of competition to an unforgettable close.
