On March 3, 2023, the Croatian Weightlifting Federation held its election assembly for the new leadership in Zagreb, Croatia. Former President Nikolay Pechalov opted not to stand for re-election, opening the field to two new candidates.

In a closely contested election, Bosko Cavka won by one vote against his opponent, Damir Plosnic. Ante Vuković, Stipe Lukić, Petar Bertagnin, Petar Heraković, Ervin Reljac, and Nino Nikolić are among the seven members of the executive board.

Amar Music was re-elected General Secretary while simultaneously taking over as head coach of the senior national team. Ensar Music has been named the new head coach of the cadet and junior teams.

In addition to the election, the first of three rounds of the league tournament was held, featuring excellent displays by both male and female athletes. The Croatian Weightlifting Federation’s new leadership hopes to enhance on this achievement and spread the sport all through the country.

The European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) congratulates the new leadership and wishes them all the best in their efforts.
