The SportMalta Awards winners were announced on Saturday night, February 25th, at a gala ceremony at the Sir Temi Zammit Hall in the University of Malta.
The finals of the 63rd edition featured the cream of Maltese sport. This year’s awards ceremony was co-hosted by the Malta Sports Journalists Association and SportMalta, with support from the Ministry of Education, Sport, Youth, Research, and Innovation.
At the live show, 11 awards were presented, seven of which were determined by jury votes.
Tenishia Thornton, a weightlifter, returned home with two prizes. The gold medalist from last year’s World and European Youth Championships kept her title as Young Athlete of the Year Women, while also receiving the People’s Choice Award.
Jesmond Caruana received the Coach of the Year Award.
