The “Alpe Adria International Weightlifting Tournament” is the oldest weightlifting Tournament in the IWF and EWF Calendar.
The ALPE ADRIA International Weightlifting Tournament was founded in 1965 by Mr. Marcello Zoratti (Friuli Venezia Giulia – ITA), Mr. Janko Groselj (Slovenia – YUG), and Mr. Anton Kofler (Karnten – AUT), among the bordering regions/countries of Slovenia (SLO), Friuli Venezia Giulia (ITA), and Karnten (AUT).
Since its inception, the “Alpe Adria International Weightlifting Tournament” has been held as an important and friendly tournament each year. A Master’s tournament has been held on a regular basis since 2003.
