It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Mr. Guy Koller, President of the French Weightlifting Federation.
Mr. Guy Koller, a special person and a strong supporter of our beloved sport was found dead today in his hotel room in Oran – Algeria, where he was attending together with the official delegation of France in the Mediterranean Games.
Guy Koller as a Member of the OC of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and President of the National Weightlifting Federation of the Host Country, has been appointed as a permanent guest on the IWF Executive Board for the period 2022-2024 and during the EWF Congress in Albania was also awarded with the EWF Bronze Star for his involvement and dedication in weightlifting.
The EWF leadership and Executive Board are sending their deepest condolences to the Weightlifting Federation of France, Mr. Koller’s family, and loved ones.
He will be greatly missed.
