On 23 December 2025, an official award ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Moldova, honoring distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions to the development of the country across various fields.
The ceremony was opened by Her Excellency Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova, who addressed the attendees and expressed her sincere appreciation for their dedication and efforts in supporting the country’s progress.
Kt. Antonio Conflitti, President of the Moldova Weightlifting Federation and former EWF President, was honored in recognition of his significant activities and achievements in the field of sport at both the national and international levels. He was the only President of a National Federation to be nominated on this occasion, marking a historic first for leadership within the sport of weightlifting to receive such a distinction in Moldova.
The award conferred was the Order of Honour, a state order of the Republic of Moldova established by the Parliament in 2002 and awarded by presidential decree. This decoration represents one of the highest recognitions granted by the Moldovan state for exceptional service and merit.
