The second day of the Championships opened with the Men’s Youth 56kg B category. Top 3 athletes of B group were: Nathan Mifsud of Malta lifted 84kg in snatch and 104kg in clean & jerk for a total of 188kg. Spain’s Martin Noe Amat totaled 176kg (81kg snatch, 95kg clean & jerk), while Bulgaria’s Nikolay Marinov finished with 171kg (77kg snatch, 94kg clean & jerk).
The A group of the Men’s Youth 56kg category followed with medal-winning lifts. Musab Mammadtaghiyev of Azerbaijan claimed gold with a total of 202kg (93kg snatch, 109kg clean & jerk), securing the first gold for Team Azerbaijan and adding to their proud weightlifting tradition. Georgia’s Avtandil Chandishvili took silver with 197kg (88kg snatch, 109kg clean & jerk), while Türkiye’s Muhammed Furkan Beggi earned bronze with 192kg (87kg snatch, 105kg clean & jerk).
In the Women’s Youth 48kg group, Ukraine’s Kateryna Malashchuk delivered a standout performance, breaking all records in snatch, clean & jerk, and total with 76kg snatch and 93kg clean & jerk for a 169kg total. Bulgaria’s Boyana Kostadinova claimed silver with 160kg (75kg snatch, 85kg clean & jerk), and Spain’s Evelyn Gómez Sosa thrilled the home crowd by taking bronze with 152kg (67kg snatch, 85kg clean & jerk).
The Men’s Youth 60kg session was a dramatic contest decided by just one kilogram. Türkiye’s Ramazan Efe Yilmaz earned gold with 252kg total (111kg snatch and a record-breaking 141kg clean & jerk). Moldova’s Danu Secrieru took silver with 251kg, setting a new snatch record at 114kg and adding 137kg in clean & jerk. Evgenii Buzutov (AIN) captured bronze with 247kg (112kg snatch, 135kg clean & jerk).
The final group of the day featured the U15 Girls 44kg category. Moldova’s Ecaterina Vilcu claimed gold with 125kg total (55kg snatch, 70kg clean & jerk). Spain’s Gisela Ruano lifted 122kg (51kg snatch, 71kg clean & jerk) to secure silver, while Türkiye’s Sevim Iremsu took bronze with 121kg (54kg snatch, 67kg clean & jerk). It was a fitting end to a day full of strong performances and new records.
