We are pleased to inform you that Stian Grimseth has been re-elected as President of the Norwegian Weightlifting Federation for another two-year term.
Following an exciting presidential race, Grimseth secured a clear vote of confidence, reaffirming his strong leadership and dedication to the sport.
Grimseth brings a deep passion for Norwegian weightlifting, combined with extensive experience in elite weightlifting. Under his leadership, Norway has celebrated European, World, and Olympic gold medals. His steady presence, strategic vision, and ability to inspire those around him continue to be key assets for the Federation.
Joining him is a newly elected board, consisting of both new members and seasoned leaders with long-standing experience in sports. Together, they form a team with complementary strengths—a valuable mix of perspectives and skills that will open up exciting opportunities for Norwegian weightlifting in the years ahead.
We also warmly welcome Marte Krogsrud as the new Secretary General. With her extensive background in both elite and grassroots sports, along with strong leadership and development skills, she is a valuable addition to the team. Alongside Emelie Nilsen, they form a highly competent administration with a sharp focus on strategic progress and long-term growth.
Looking ahead, the Norwegian Federation is thrilled to be hosting the World Championships in Førde this autumn. With the stunning backdrop of fjords and mountains, this event will be a true celebration of weightlifting in Norway.
EWF congratulates newly elected leaders and looks forward to meeting in Førde!
