On 11 July 2026, the European Weightlifting Federation successfully held its Special Congress via Zoom. The Congress was convened to consider and adopt amendments to the EWF Constitution and Rules.
The meeting was attended by delegates representing 41 Member Federations, reflecting the strong engagement of the European weightlifting community in the Federation’s governance and future development.
The most significant decision adopted during the Congress was the approval of the relocation of the EWF’s registered seat to Luxembourg, which was passed by an overwhelming majority of the delegates, 38 votes in favour.
The adopted amendments mark an important milestone in the Federation’s continued modernisation and commitment to good governance, providing a strong foundation for its future development.
The European Weightlifting Federation will continue to implement its strategic objectives, promote the growth of weightlifting across Europe, and further strengthen its position as a modern, transparent, and successful international sports organization.
