Chisinau, Moldova , 10.07.2023 – The 2023 EWF European Youth & U15 Championships came to an exhilarating close on its final day, showcasing the extraordinary talent of young weightlifters from across Europe. Day 9 of the competition witnessed intense battles and impressive performances, leaving spectators captivated and champions crowned.

The morning session kicked off with the Men YO 96kg category, where the crowd was treated to an exceptional display of strength and skill. Italy’s Abati Simone Karol emerged as the gold medalist, showcasing his prowess with a remarkable performance. Ukraine’s Smyk Maksym secured the silver medal, while Bulgaria’s Angelov Tanislav claimed the bronze.

In the second session, the combined groups of Men U15 102kg and +102kg took the stage, providing a spectacle that left the audience in awe. The 102kg category witnessed an outstanding performance by Bulgaria’s Balinov Konstantin, who clinched the gold medal with an impressive display of power. Poland’s Garbowski Igor put up a commendable performance to secure the silver medal.

In the fiercely contested +102kg category, it was Turkie Biyik Arda who stood atop the podium, earning the coveted gold medal. Ukraine’s Anhelov Sviatoslav displayed exceptional strength to secure the silver medal, while Georgia’s Akhaladze Mikheil impressed with his performance, earning the bronze medal.

In another thrilling category, the Men YO 102kg, three exceptional weightlifters showed their skills and claimed their spots on the podium. Georgia’s Adamia Saba demonstrated remarkable strength and technique, earning the gold medal for his outstanding performance. Poland’s Ziolkowski Marcin displayed great determination and secured the silver medal, while Armenia’s Margaryan Ashot showcased his talent to clinch the bronze medal. 

The competition reached its grand finale with the Men YO +102kg category, where the lifters gave their best. Georgia’s Vekua Irakli dominated the category, delivering an exceptional performance to claim the gold medal. His compatriot, Darsavelidze Givi, earned the silver medal. Ukraine’s Holovanov Vladyslav secured the bronze medal, rounding out the podium. 

With this thrilling conclusion, the 2023 EWF European Youth & U15 Championships came to an end, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable performances and a bright future for these young weightlifters.
