The European Youth and U15 Weightlifting Championships have been successfully concluded. It was held from 10th to 17th August 2022 in the magnificent Sport Centre in Raszyn, Poland, where we saw 141 U15 athletes from 30 European nations and 195 Youth athletes from 33 nations.
The Opening ceremony was attended by high Poland representatives, Minister of Sport and Tourism – Kamil Bortniczuk, Deputy Mayor of the Raszyn Commune – Katarzyna Dombska, Director of the Central Sports Center – Witold Roman, Director of the Central Sports Center in Cetniewo – Michał Kowalski, Director General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration – Dariusz Nowak, Head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration – Michał Prószyński, Director of the Raszyn Sports Center – Katarzyna Klimaszewska, Deputy Director of the Raszyn Sports Center – Marcin Borsuk, Council Pruszków County – Krzysztof Rymuza, Chairman of the Pruszków County Council – Rafał Sieradzki, Director of the Sports and Recreation Center of the Ursus District – Sławomir Luliński, Director of the Sports Championship School in Pruszków – Łukasz Borkowski, Director of Academy of Physical Culture and Tourism in Pruszków – Marcin Bartkowski, Director of the Raszyn Cultural Center – Mariusz Smolicha, President of KS Raszyn – Marcin Cwyl, Krzysztof Będkowski – Councilor of the Raszyn commune, Tadeusz Pawlikowski – Councilor of the Raszyn Commune, Andrzej Zawistowski – Councilor of the Raszyn Commune, and Wiesław Szustak – Councilor of the Raszyn Commune.
European championships were opened by Antonio Conflitti, The President of EWF.

The best U15 weightlifters were CAMILLERI LAGANA Kim (MLT) and BARSEGHYAN Seryozha (ARM), and the best Youth weightlifters were DOLEGA Martyna (POL) and OCHIGAVA Levan (GEO).
The most successful U15 teams were Poland (women) and Ukraine (men), and the most successful Youth teams were Turkey (women) and Poland (men).
The LOC introduced a special award for the coaches of new European champions, thus celebrating the efforts they make together with their athletes to succeed. It was very well received by the coaches and teams.
The beautiful venue was especially well planned, creating a show-like atmosphere with colorful lights on the stage, animation, and lively music.
Three more events contributed to making this competition successful. EWF Anti-doping and Fair Play Commission, together with Poland Weightlifting Federation organized, on August 9, 2022, an exceptionally well-attended and productive seminar on anti-doping and fair play; Since Loredana Toma (ROU), the 2021 Best European Female Weightlifter, was unable to attend the ceremony in April, she received her award during the opening ceremony, on August 10, 2022; Following an examination during the Championships, the weightlifting family got two new ITOs category 2, Natalia Priscepa (MDA) and Andrei Birca (MDA). Congratulations!
