The fifth day opened with the Women’s Youth 58kg group, setting the tone for another strong day of competition.
It was a proud moment for Moldova as Nicoleta Cojocaru dominated the Youth Women’s 58kg category. She lifted 85kg in snatch and set a new European Youth Record with 105kg in clean & jerk, finishing with another European Youth Record total of 190kg. Great lifts from her kept the hall on its feet. Amelie Pelta of Great Britain earned silver with 182kg (81kg snatch, 101kg clean & jerk), while Türkiye’s Ilayda Ertugrul took bronze with 178kg (77kg snatch, 101kg clean & jerk).
In the Youth Women’s 63kg category, Albania’s Carja Enkileda was in a class of her own. She broke three European Youth Records – 93kg snatch, 111kg clean & jerk and a 204kg total. Carja has been building a reputation with consistent strong results, and today’s lifts confirmed her as a true rising star on not just Europe but World level.
Türkiye’s Sevim Sudenaz took silver with 180kg (82kg snatch, 98kg clean & jerk), and Armenia’s Natalya Sargsyan claimed bronze with 178kg (81kg snatch, 97kg clean & jerk).
The Men’s Youth 71kg group kept the audience watching closely. Arsenii Kurochkin (AIN) secured gold with a huge 125kg snatch and a new European Youth Record 161kg clean & jerk, finishing with 286kg total. Sergei Lukanin (AIN) lifted 274kg (119kg snatch, 155kg clean & jerk) for silver, while Armenia’s Rafik Darmoyan took bronze with 273kg (121kg snatch, 152kg clean & jerk).
The day concluded with the U15 Men’s 71kg B and 79kg B groups, closing out another session filled with strong performances.
