The 2025 EWF Youth Training Camp has officially begun in Madrid, under the leadership of Jesmond Caruana, EWF Vice President and Chair of the EWF Coaching Research & Scientific Committee, alongside Yong Xie from the Chinese Weightlifting Federation and Dr Marcos Soriano from the Spanish Weightlifting Federation

The European Weightlifting Federation Youth Training Camp has commenced in Madrid on 13th July, gathering 74 participants from 15 countries for a week of structured training, technical development, and international exchange.

This initiative aims to support young lifters and coaches across Europe by offering a high-level training environment guided by experienced professionals. The camp serves not only as a platform for performance enhancement but also as a space for building connections, sharing methodologies, and promoting the values of European weightlifting.

The EWF extends its appreciation to all participating federations, coaches, and athletes for their commitment to the future of the sport.

Looking ahead: Madrid will also host the 2025 EWF Youth & U15 Championships from 23 to 31 July, where many of these young athletes will soon step onto the competition platform.
