Karoliina Lundahl was re-elected as President of the Finnish Weightlifting Federation for a two-year term during the Finnish Weightlifting Federation Fall Congress on November 1, 2024, in Helsinki.
At the same time, half of the Executive Board was elected, including three Board Members and a female athlete Board Member. The Finnish Executive Board presently contains four men and four women, including two athletes and a female president. There was no special voting for gender slots because athlete positions are voted for independently by clubs.
The new board has a goal to improve on the financial status of the federation as the Finnish government is decreasing subsidies to the sports governing bodies, about five to thirty percent in the next three years. At the same time the Finnish lifters continue taking medals at youth and junior competitions for a fourth year in a row by Aino Luostarinen, Janette Ylisoini and Minni Hormavirta. Saara Retulainen, best lifter, won two medals at 2024 European Senior Championships in Sofia.
