The European Weightlifting Federation and Eleiko AB renewed their partnership in Warsaw, on October 25, following a negotiation for perfecting one of the most interesting collaborations between EWF and Eleiko, in recent years, based on financial and sports materials sponsorship.
The signing of the contract took place, at the end of the EWF Special Congress, and the protagonists of this moment were the EWF President, Kt. Antonio Conflitti and Mr. Mathieu Gratereau, Area Sales Manager at Eleiko, who stated at the end of the meeting: “We are pleased to renew our partnership with the EWF for the next four years. It is an honor to align our organisations and collaboratively promote the excellence of weightlifting, both at club level and on the international stage.”
President, Kt. Antonio Conflitti reacted enthusiastically after signing the contract with EWF’s old partner Eleiko: “I’m glad we reached a consensus. I am glad that we are renewing this partnership with an European company and I am convinced that, from now on, the partnership will be even more effective for both parties.”
The Swedish company, based in Halmstad, understood the needs, but also the plans and development strategy of the EWF, which generated an availability for more generous support for the European organizations and the Member Federations.
The partnership will be valid for the period 2025 – 2028, a period of time in which both parties have assumed the fulfilment of some commitments within this agreement.
PRECISION CRAFTED STRENGTH EQUIPMENT SINCE 1957
From waffle irons to the world’s leader in lifting Eleiko manufactured small electrical appliances including waffle irons. In 1957 the factory supervisor Mr. Hällström, frustrated with barbells constantly bending and breaking, approached Mrs. Johansson, the managing director, with an inspired idea — build a better barbell. The bar was crafted from specially formulated Swedish steel with knurling inspired by the waffle iron pattern.
Inspired by lifters
Since the beginning they’ve taken the inspiration from the lifter. Eleiko barbell set a new standard for equipment performance in 1963. Over the decades they’ve maintained that focus. Continuously improving the lifting experience to enhance performance and safety guides the company to this day.
For a lifetime of lifting
From the competition stage to training halls, health clubs to home gyms — they aim to help people build strength and improve performance with precision crafted equipment designed for a lifetime of lifting. These are only the main points that summarize Eleiko’s activity, but the company’s activity is even more complex and intense than that and the concerns do not stop only at production, but also at respecting social, sustainable values and the environment.
