One week of friendship, mutual training, and experience exchange has come to an end. From September 5 to 11, 2022, 40 athletes and 15 coaches from nine countries shared their sports knowledge in Split, Croatia. Besides daily training and theoretical lessons, as well as an anti-doping seminar, developing friendships among young people was something that EWF insisted on in the journey within a clean and safe sport of weightlifting.

Lead coaches were Colin Buckley (IRL), the EWF CR&SC Chairman, and Damjan Canzek (SLO), members of the IWF & EWF CR&SC. Amar Music (CRO), CWF General Secretary put in a lot of work to make the camp a success. Croatian weightlifting federation demonstrated excellent hospitality and organizational skills.

At the closing ceremony, participants were awarded certificates of participation in the presence of Nikolay Pechalov, President of the Croatian Weightlifting Federation and multiple Olympic, world, and European champions.

EWF went above and beyond to ensure that the camp was both beneficial to athletic development and memorable, with the formation of new friendships.

Discussions about the 2023 EWF Youth Training Camp have already begun, and we’ll start advertising in December.
