Day 5 of the 2026 EWF European Youth & U15 Championships started with the B groups in the Men U15 75 kg and Youth Men 70 kg categories, before the first medal session of the day began at noon.
The Youth Men 70 kg gave the crowd a close contest between Georgia’s Davit KILADZE and Türkiye’s Toprak KOLEOGLU.
KOLEOGLU finished the Snatch in front after three successful lifts, ending on 128 kg and setting a new European Youth record. KILADZE was three kilograms behind with 125 kg, so he had work to do in the Clean & Jerk.
The Georgian made 150 kg and then 155 kg, which was enough to turn the competition around. His 280 kg Total put him one kilogram ahead of KOLEOGLU, who finished with 279 kg after a 151 kg Clean & Jerk.
Bulgaria’s Viktor KOSTADINOV took bronze with 270 kg, lifting 121 kg in the Snatch and 149 kg in the Clean & Jerk.
Türkiye had two athletes on the podium in the next session, the Women U15 61 kg.
Elif Irem DOGAN won the category with 179 kg. She led after a 78 kg Snatch and then added 101 kg in the Clean & Jerk.
Poland’s Julia WOJCIK finished second with 167 kg, while Erva DOGAN took bronze for Türkiye with 166 kg.
The Youth Women 61 kg was another competition decided by a single kilogram, but this time the winner had to come from behind.
Sudenaz SEVIM of Türkiye led the Snatch with 84 kg, while Germany’s Yashira MOLINA BECKER was just behind on 83 kg. Uladzislava LAVAR of Belarus went into the Clean & Jerk with 80 kg.
That was where the competition changed.
LAVAR made 95 kg and 105 kg before finishing with 110 kg on her third attempt. The lift was a new European Youth record and took her to 190 kg in Total, enough for the gold medal.
SEVIM finished with 189 kg after an 84 kg Snatch and 105 kg Clean & Jerk. MOLINA BECKER also reached 189 kg, with 83 kg and 106 kg, and took bronze.
The final session of the day was the Men U15 75 kg, where Armenia’s Tigran AVETISYAN took all three gold medals.
AVETISYAN led the Snatch with 122 kg and followed with 146 kg in the Clean & Jerk for a winning Total of 268 kg.
Georgia’s Lukasi TODUA was his closest challenger, finishing with 118 kg in the Snatch and 145 kg in the Clean & Jerk for 263 kg.
Uladzislau MASIURA of Belarus completed the podium with 239 kg.
