Day 9 of the 2025 EWF European Youth and U15 Championships – Final Day of Competition

The last day of the Championships opened with the Men’s U15 88kg category. Spain’s Erik Guadamud delighted the home crowd by taking gold with 303kg (138kg snatch, 165kg clean & jerk). Azerbaijan’s Aykhan Mammadov claimed silver with 269kg (122kg snatch, 147kg clean & jerk), while Türkiye’s Burhan Erdem Gurcay secured bronze with 267kg (118kg snatch, 149kg clean & jerk).
In the Men’s Youth 94kg group, Armenia’s Grigor Ghazaryan set new European Youth Records in snatch (148kg), clean & jerk (190kg), and total (338kg) to win gold. Aleksandr Bagaev (AIN) followed with silver at 330kg (146kg snatch, 184kg clean & jerk), and Georgia’s Jumber Bekoshvili took bronze with 308kg (139kg snatch, 169kg clean & jerk).
The Men’s Youth +94kg session also brought record-breaking lifts. Armenia’s Harutyun Hovhannisyan claimed gold with 346kg (160kg snatch – a new European Youth Record – and 186kg clean & jerk). Georgia’s Jaba Tkeshelashvili secured silver with 341kg (155kg snatch, 186kg clean & jerk), while Semen Karavaev (AIN) finished third with 330kg (154kg snatch, 176kg clean & jerk).
The Championships concluded with the Men’s U15 +88kg category. Matvei Klimov (AIN) earned gold with 291kg (132kg snatch, 159kg clean & jerk). Semion Makarau (AIN) followed with 287kg (131kg snatch, 156kg clean & jerk), and Türkiye’s Mete Muku took bronze with 269kg (117kg snatch, 152kg clean & jerk).
