The European Weightlifting Federation President, Mr. Antonio Conflitti and General Secretary, Mr. Milan Mihajlovic have presented the highest EWF Distinction to H.E. Mr. Ilir Meta, President of the Republic of Albania during an official visit at the Albanian Presidential Office in the beautiful capital city of Tirana, on Sunday 28 May, 2022.
Considering H.E.’s past sporting activity as weightlifter and the admirable commitment in supporting sports in general, Olympic values and especially in supporting the Albanian Weightlifting Federation, the EWF was honored to inform the Albanian Presidency that the Executive Board of the European Weightlifting Federation, at proposal of its President, has decided to present the highest Continental Federation’s Distinction, the “Gold Collar for sporting merits”, in recognition of Mr. President Meta outstanding activity and involvement for the development of our beloved sport nationally and in international representation.
The official moment was enjoyed by the members of the EWF and IWF leadership.
