The XXXI International Waldemar Malak Memorial was successfully held on 29 August 2026 in Gdańsk, Poland, bringing together athletes from across Europe for another strong edition of this traditional international weightlifting competition.
The tournament was organised by MKS Atleta Gdańsk, led by its President Lech Labudda, together with the Polish Weightlifting Federation. The competition took place at the MKS Atleta Gdańsk sports hall and once again honoured the memory and sporting legacy of Waldemar Malak, the Polish weightlifter who won an Olympic bronze medal at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games.
This year’s competition featured 18 athletes representing 10 countries : Georgia, Poland, Latvia, Armenia, Romania, Lithuania, Czechia, Ukraine, Austria and Slovakia — with the athletes ranked according to the Sinclair score.
The top three athletes of the XXXI International Waldemar Malak Memorial were:
- Zurab Mskhaladze (GEO) – 354 kg total, 446.196 Sinclair points
- Konrad Łazuga (POL) – 325 kg total, 433.114 Sinclair points
- Daniel Kołecki (POL) – 365 kg total, 429.150 Sinclair points
