On January 4-6, 2023, the Asian Weightlifting Federation Electoral Congress was held in Doha, Qatar.
Yousef Al Mana (QAT) was elected AWF President, Mohammed Alharbi (KSA) was elected General Secretary, and Mohammed Jalood was elected First Vice President.
Abdullah Aljarmal (YEM), Meng Bo (CHN), Sung Yong Choi (KOR), Shakhrillo Makhmudov (UZB), and Monica Puentevella (PHI) are the AWF Vice Presidents. List of elected EB members and committee members you can find here.
Previously, the 9th West Asian and 7th Qatar Cups were held from 30th December 2022 to 4th January 2023 where ITOs from Europe took part.
Both events were extremely well-organized, with excellent hospitality.
The IWF EB members, as well as the EWF President and General Secretary, attended the events.
The European Weightlifting Federation congratulates all elected Asian Weightlifting Federation officials and wishes the two continental federations a prosperous sports relationship.
